Development Squad Beat Counties

Waikato Development team took another step up from last week with a 48 – 20 win over Counties at Pukekohe.
After making 7 changes to the forward pack and 3 changes to the back line from last week Waikato lead 24 – 15 at half time with 3 converted tries and a penalty with Counties kicking 5 penalties.
A further 4 tries and 2 conversions in the 2nd half with Countries scoring a consolation try in the 80th minute.
With the number of changes to the forwards the scrum and lineout worked well.
The backs looked sharp when spreading the ball wide. Maru Henry came up from the under 20’s and had a good game on the wing.

Counties – V Comley Try, D Cummings 5 penalties.
