Both Teams started fairly evenly and they tested each other out, Auckland created a quick turnover and had an extra man over lap which resulted in a try in the corner which was converted. Auckland’s discipline let them down at times. Harlequin’s had a roll of penalty’s which the forwards capitalised on eventually resulting in Bruce Jones(HBHS) scoring , Jarrod Mongston converted. With a few miss tackles Auckland started to build on a respectable score getting out to a 27 -7 lead .Harlequin’s received a penalty right on half time 20mtrs out , with quick thinking Jacob Neild(Cambridge High) took the quick tap and went over for the try, Jarrod Mongston(St Peter's) added the conversion. Halftime 27-14 Auckland.

A good start for Harlequins  put initial pressure on Auckland in their 22 but were able to Auckland hold them out, Harlequins held their own for most of the half as Auckland boys where a lot bigger in size but once again a missed tackle let Auckland back in with a try. Harlequins fought back by turning over possession which resulted in a try to Jacob Ale(St Peter's)

Outstanding Players/Moments in the Match:

Good defence by flanker’s Bruce Jones(HBHS) and Blake Linguard(St John's), strong attacks by mid-feild combination of Isaako Peato-lista(Putaruru College) and Tane Mita(Cambridge High).
