Waikato Development Beat Bay Of Plenty 24-13

The Waikato Development side beat BOP development side in there first competition game 24 – 1.
BOP kicked a penalty in the 4th min and it took another 14 minutes before Waikato scored with Maurice Stone taking an intercept on his 22 metre line with Alesana Muliaina finishing the movement by scoring the try. Maurice Stone converted. BOP kicked another penalty in the 25th minute. Frank Halai scored in the 40th minute finishing of a good team try and Waikato lead 15 – 6 at half time.
Waikato opened the scoring in the 2nd half with a penalty to Maurice Stone in the 47 min. BOP replied with a try in the 65th minute. Waikato then worked a set move in the 75th minute with Maurice Stone kicking a drop goal and he then kicked a penalty in the 80th minute.
The forwards set a good platform dominated the Bay scrum. Mark Verner had a very good game, while Maurice Stone kicked well.
